Today’s wisdom comes from the poet Gwendolyn Brooks:
Exhaust the little moment. Soon it dies.
And be it gash or gold it will not come
Again in this identical disguise.
There is no more important spiritual practice than the conscious consecration of the present moment whatever that moment may be. It’s not very flashy. It doesn’t get much press. But it is at the heart of the curriculum vitae of all the deeply human and holy men and women.
PRACTICE:
Pay attention to “the little moment.” Then, give thanks or praise or something away.
