The renowned Protestant theologian Karl Barth travelled to America and delivered a series of lectures at Princeton Seminary. At the end of one of these talks, a seminary student rose and asked, “My dear Dr. Barth, could you, in one line, sum up the essence of your understanding of the gospel?” (This is the same Barth whose unfinished magnum opus is fourteen volumes long!). But Barth was up to the task and said
“In Jesus Christ, God says ‘Yes’ to humanity.”
REFLECTION:
What does it mean to you that God says “Yes!” to humanity?
What does it mean to you that God says “Yes!” to YOU?
