Today’s Life-Line is:
The best way to remember those who have been killed in battle is to work for the day when others will no longer be sent to take their place. Prayerfully reflecting on how to move away from war and war preparation should be central to every Memorial Day.

Thanks for this quote from Magliano. Great way to face the day.
Yes! This is usually forgotten along with the fact that most wars have little, if anything, to do with stated ideals like democracy, freedom or peace. Economic and military power are much more likely to be the motivating reasons behind war. While we honor those who have given their lives we must never lose our moral responsibility to discern the true causes of war behind the rhetoric which has seduced our species into tragic violence.
Well stated, Bob.
