Today’s Life-Line is:
There is something unfolding in the universe whether one speaks of it as an unconscious process, or whether one speaks of it as an unmoved mover, or whether one speaks of it as a personal God. There is something in the universe that unfolds for justice and so in Montgomery we felt somehow that as we struggled we had cosmic companionship. And this is one of the things that kept the people together, the belief that the universe is on the side of justice.

I love this photo. I am curious, who is carrying the Torah?
Hi Clara, in this picture is Rabbi Abraham Heschel, Dr. Martin Luther King, and Rev. Ralph Abernathy. Many photos of this day show Rabbi Heschel carrying the Torah. But in this photo the unseen holder of the Torah was Rabbi Maurice Eisendrath who was the head of American Reform Judaism at the time.
