BECOMING HUMAN, BECOMING HOLY

▪ Amazing Grace you Are! Continued offering of blessings on your journey. What a gift that my community has feasted at your table – they now know what I’ve struggled to share with them – you have to be experienced!!
~ Nuala Ryan, SSL

▪ This retreat was one of the best I’ve ever attended. I was left wanting more. I wouldn’t have wanted any shorter or fewer presentations, but more reflection time would have been nice. We needed another day, at least!
~ Miriam Soikkeli

▪ Dan you are a marvelous giver of spiritual gifts to my many wonderings about life and our spiritual connections to our weeping and smiling Creator. Thank you! Love and Prayers,
~ Irven Rule

▪ Dan! You gave me an awesome weekend. I appreciated the way you spoke with conviction. Your presence and delivery were so respectful. Thanks a million and God bless your ministry!
~ Monica Quigley, SSL

▪ Dr. Miller (Dan), you are the personification of all you taught me this weekend. You live the “oohs” and aahs,” the “Wows” of your experiences as well as the other “end” of life – loss, suffering, darker moments. Thank you!! All have come to roost in me! Yes, Liturgy lives beyond the Liturgy (Mass). Thank you for reminding me.
~ Mary Prendergast, SSL

▪ Dr. Miller’s talks have challenged me to take a long, loving look at my life as I live it right now in my retirement. Am I living the significant life right now? What is the gift I want to give the world in my declining years? Am I responding to God’s extravagant and lavish love for me by being truly human and lovable?
~ Sr. Rita McCormack

▪ This was one of the most beneficial and personally awakening retreats. Dan’s questions were deep – calling me to new thoughts — very challenging. This was very positive and holy. Thank you!!
~ Judy Sullivan

BE STILL & STILL MOVING: A PILGRIMAGE OF THE HEART

▪ [The retreat] was so meaningful, life-changing, freeing, and inspiring that I feel grateful and blessed. It was exactly what we needed to hear—practical and holy, deep yet not heavy, ENLIVENING. I’d love to attend another one—please return.
~ Theresa A.

▪ Excellent — Very rich. This presentation by Dr. Miller is equally inspired & spirit-led as well as rooted in scholarly wisdom – Such a delight. Hope he can lead us each year as we grow with him & be moved into courageous action.
~ Kathryn Linehan

▪ I like how he presents. He does not come in with all the answers. He brings information and knowledge for growth that help direct/ guide/ suggest how I can grow and more fully live out my following Jesus.
~ Celeste Fitterer

▪ Excellent. I was not here last year so I was in awe at his opening talk! I also thought that the Broken Heart session was so well done and necessary. It has been such an enriching weekend. Now my “wild heart” has to make some adjustments.
~ Mary Wilde

LIVING LIVES OF SUBSTANCE (A Men’s Retreat)

▪ Dan, I wanted to drop you a note to thank you once again for your presentation at our retreat last weekend. The evaluations I have received from the guys are overwhelmingly positive on your topic and presentation. Quotes like “Relevant, stimulating”, “Very informative”, “Right on”, “Very timely and meaningful”. . . Blessings to you in your work.
~ Bob Kraft, Chairperson, Westlake Village Men’s Retreat for local Methodist and Lutheran Congregations

One Day Presentations

THE SACRED ORDINARY & THE LITURGY OF LIFE (A Women’s Day of Prayer &Reflection)

▪ With humor, humility, poetry, song and reflection, Dan Miller urged us to involve ourselves in the constant beckoning, an invitation to the Sacred Liturgy of Life in the ordinary, compelling us to see the richness in our everyday lives, with gratitude. This is the third time it’s been my privilege to hear Dan speak. I never tire of his compelling and inspirational messages, drawing us even closer to the heart of God.
~ Jean Sampson, St. Bernadine of Siena Catholic Church, Woodland Hills, CA

▪ Dan has a way of drawing you back into the quietness of your soul, looking at your everyday life as a prayer, as a partaking in the holy life God planned for you, through what appear to be the ordinary things. There’s a richness of readings, poetry, and especially life lessons that he brings to his presentations that touch you, eventually, because he knows how to connect spiritual wisdom to the human experience.
~ Kathy Jacinto, St. Bernadine of Siena Catholic Church, Woodland Hills, CA

WITH TIMBRELS & DANCING (On Liturgical Spirituality)

▪ Dan served as a presenter for in-services for our liturgy coordinators (With Timbrels and Dancing) and for our bereavement ministers (Grief & Grace: The Transformational Potential of Loss). The variety of ministerial roles he has had, his impressive academic background and his own personal life make Dan Miller an intensely profound yet very practical presenter. He has a unique ability to reach people where they are, combining theology, scripture, spirituality, literature, and lived experience. Deeply reflective, he is able to spiritually nourish others because he has internalized what he expresses so well.
~ Mary Ann Fallon, former Director, Office for Liturgy and Spirituality, Diocese of San Diego

▪ Dan’s presentations are most often poetic and prophetic and always solid theologically. His rich experience in pastoral leadership and ministry in a variety of areas combines in remarkable ways with his fine education . . . You can expect profound story-telling, authenticity and integrity of content and experience, and opportunities to grow and be enriched in mind, spirit and heart.
~ Kathy Lindell, former Director of the Office of Worship, Los Angeles

SAD BREAD, BEAUTY WINE (On the Eucharist)

▪ My overall reaction is one of thanks. It is such a pleasure to attend a formation session such as yours. I was brought “out of myself” and once again reminded that it is not about “me” but about “us.” We were led quite easily, into a deeper understanding of the Eucharist, of God. . . . One thing I really liked was your openness to questions and where they would take us. The time together [3 hours] moved so quickly, I wished that we had had again as long a time. Truly, Dan, you are such a joy to listen to and interact with. Everyone was so pleased with the session.
~ Kathy DeJardin, Director of Music Ministries, Santiago de Compostela Catholic Church
